After years of rumors, and weeks of hype, former WCW and WWE World Champion Bill Goldberg finally made his return to the ring on Sunday night at Survivor Series. Goldberg faced off against his WrestleMania 20 opponent, Brock Lesnar, and Goldberg destroyed Brock Lesnar with a decisive victory.

It was obvious as soon as Goldberg returned on Raw last month that wrestling fans have missed the WCW icon. He received a warm welcome when he initially returned, and it was clear that the Toronto crowd was fully behind Goldberg at Survivor Series.
Goldberg’s been away from the ring for a long time, but there’s no denying that he has star power. His decisive victory over Brock Lesnar seems to indicate that WWE is interested in working with him again, and it looks like that’s the case.
Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that Goldberg recently signed a deal to appear in the 2017 Royal Rumble match. That’s why Goldberg was booked to look so dominant at the Survivor Series pay-per-view.
The Royal Rumble is set to be held at the Alamodome in San Antonio TX, on January 29, 2017.

As of right now there’s no word on whether or not WWE has plans to set up a WrestleMania match for Goldberg, but if his victory over Brock Lesnar is any indication, it certainly seems that WWE sees dollar signs when it comes to Goldberg’s future with the company.
