Last year Goldberg made his big return to the ring when he stepped up to face Gunther in his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta. Ultimately Gunther picked up the win, and Goldberg attempted to deliver a speech after the match which got cut from the broadcast.
Recently TikToker Pop the Chain met up with Goldberg at an autograph signing in Nashville, and the two had a brief conversation about the Hall of Famer’s retirement speech getting cut off.
Pop the Chain: “You know what really p*ssed me off? Was when WWE cut off your mic at your final performance.”
Goldberg: “Well, what do you think it did for me? It made me really happy. It just shows what disrespect they have for me.”
Pop the Chain: “What jacka**, was it Hunter? Who did that?”
Goldberg: “Probably.”
Pop the Chain: “Yeah, he’s a jacka**, man.”
Goldberg: “100 percent.”
Goldberg was the first big name that Gunther retired as he later went on to retire John Cena in December and AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble in January. WWE has yet to announce WrestleMania plans for Gunther, but you can get details on his status for the big show here.
