Goldberg is the current WWE Universal Champion and he’s set to defend his title against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 on Sunday. Goldberg returned to WWE in the fall of 2016 for one match, but his deal was extended after WWE realized that he’s still in demand.

However, it looks like Goldberg’s WWE run will likely be coming to an end soon. Goldberg isn’t being advertised for WWE events after WrestleMania 33 and he recently shared a post on Instagram that seems to be hinting that he’s finishing up with the company. Goldberg posted the following:

“Call it luck…. hard work……or fate. Still trying to grasp the moment from last night. Thank you to all the fans who’ve welcomed me back during this run. Truly an honor to have my family along for the ride this time! #humbled #grateful #priceless #familyfirst The biggest #thankyou goes out to my wonderful wife who’s put up with me during this time. Also quite important is that none of this would’ve happened without the @wwe giving me the opportunity. #thankuall #teamgoldberg BTW , if you think I’m throwing in the towel you know nothing about me. Expect all hell to break loose at #wrestlemania no matter what I’m going out on my sword! If I got 1 or 50 left I’m bringing the heat!!!! #bankonit”

Although Goldberg’s current WWE run might be over after Sunday, that doesn’t necessarily mean that he won’t return in the future. After all, he was only supposed to work one match against Brock Lesnar in the first place.

Whether you like him or not, there’s no denying that his recent run with the company has been a complete success. Both Goldberg and WWE have likely made massive amounts of money thanks to his return, so it won’t be shocking at all to see him work another feud with someone other than Brock Lesnar in the future.
