Bill Goldberg walked into WrestleMania 33 as WWE Universal Champion but it looks like he’ll be going into WrestleMania 34 as a WWE Hall Of Famer. This announcement is much deserved not just because of all Goldberg was able to accomplish in WCW and WWE, but also because his name is still a huge draw and will undoubtedly turn some heads toward the event.
But it turns out Goldberg didn’t have the best weekend. He was sick, and feeling the flu so he spent most of the weekend on the couch apparently. However, nothing will turn your day around like hearing you’re going to be enshrined into the WWE Hall Of Fame. After all, this is one appearance for WWE that Goldberg doesn’t have to get into prime physical shape for.
Goldberg worked himself to near exhaustion taking in so many calories and working out so much to maintain the look of the superhero walking around with the Universal Title last year. We’re not saying Goldberg is ever out of shape, but there’s a huge difference between preparing for a match against Brock Lesnar and a Hall Of Fame induction.
In a nice little Instagram message to show us how he discovered the news, Goldberg said this wasn’t a bad way to start the week while thanking all of his fans in the process.
An old opponent of Goldberg’s also commented on this announcement. Triple H praised Goldberg for having such a passion and intensity for everything he does no matter where he is or what he’s doing.
He went on to call Goldberg one of the biggest stars in the pro wrestling industry as well which is high praise coming from The Game. It’s still uncertain who will induct Goldberg into the Hall Of Fame at this point, but if Eric Bischoff or Hulk Hogan isn’t available, Triple H could always do the honors.
