There has been a lot of speculation as to what kind of relationship Goldberg and WWE are going to have after WrestleMania. Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that he didn’t see why a deal between the two couldn’t be worked out to extend Goldberg’s WWE current stay seeing how well this angle is working out for both parties involved.
As great as it might be to entertain the notion that Goldberg is sticking around, Inside The Ropes recently announced three upcoming events which might alter some thinking about WWE keeping Goldberg around after April.
It’s important to remember that Goldberg is woking a part-time schedule now, and that probably wouldn’t change if another extension were to be signed. However, it is also interesting to note that June 26th is a Monday.
This mini-tour of dates appears to be a Q&A, one-man-show type of thing and WWE has allowed its contracted people with atypical contracts to do similar outside deals like this before. Paul Heyman recently did a few dates in the UK with a similar theme. One of those days even saw Paul Heyman offering Will Ospreay an EVOLVE contract, which Will apparently turned down to accept one with ROH instead.
This doesn’t mean that Goldberg will be leaving WWE once more after his match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33, but it certainly adds a little bit more intrigue to the proposition.
