NXT Deadline kicked off with a big match as the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge opened the show. Earlier int he day it was announced that Eddy Thorpe had been pulled from the bout due to him not being medically cleared. Oba Femi ended up taking his place, and Femi went on to win the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge to earn a shot at the NXT Championship.
The women’s Iron Survivor Challenge main evented Deadline with Giulia and Wren Sinclair kicked off the match. Sol Ruca entered third. Giulia ended up picking up the first fall when she pinned Sol Ruca.
Zaria entered the match at number four. Sol Ruca hit Soul Smasher on Wren Sinclair then pinned her to tie the match 1 to 1 with Giulia. Sol Ruca and Giulia teamed up to powerbomb Zaria through the announce table then attacked each other.
Stephanie Vaquer joined the match last at number five. Zaria hit Giulia with the F5 then pinned her to score a point for herself. Later in the match Stephanie Vaquer rolled up Wren Sinclair and pinned her. Giulia, Vaquer, Zaria and Ruca were all tied with one fall each as the clock counted down.
Wren Sinclair got out of the penalty box then pinned Sol Ruca to bring the match to a five way tie. Zaria hit the F5 on Sinclair then Giulia connected with a knee to the face on Zaria and pinned her to take the lead. Stephanie Vaquer tried to pin Giulia with a few seconds left, but she failed.
Giulia will now go on to challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship. Stay tuned for updates.
