The Gift of Jericho is something wrestling fans have been drinking in for a while, and it’s quite the gift indeed.
Over the course of his WWE career Chris Jericho has won numerous World Titles, he’s headlined WrestleMania, and he’s feuded with huge stars such as The Rock, Steve Austin, John Cena, Hulk Hogan and more.
Jericho’s career has been exciting, that’s for sure, and he’s accomplished a lot since he made his WWE debut in 1999. But Chris Jericho isn’t one to rest on laurels, and some people within the wrestling community feel that his current run with WWE is his best run yet.
Chris Jericho has been on fire for months now, and he’s been telling us all to drink in the Gift of Jericho. If you’re a WWE fan, or just a fan of entertainment in general then it’s probably best that you take his advice, and here’s why.
#4 – You Never Know When The Supply Will Run Out
Chris Jericho has had an amazing career with WWE, and he’s reached a point where he can pretty much come and go as he pleases. Jericho has been able to establish himself as more than just a wrestler with his successful podcast Talk Is Jericho, his band Fozzy, and other projects he’s worked on along the way.
The point is, Chris Jericho is a busy man, and he could leave WWE to focus on one of his other projects at any time. The only person who decides when Chris Jericho’s run ends is Chris Jericho, and you never know when he’s going to take a break from wrestling again. Chris Jericho could ride off into the sunset at any moment, or get carried away by security like the first time he left WWE.
The Gift of Jericho is great, but when it comes to his time in WWE, supply is limited. Enjoy while you can.
#3 – The Drink Mix Stays Fresh
Chris Jericho has mastered the art of catchphrases over the years. He got several catchphrases over big time back in the 90s, and early 2000s, and he we are in the year 2016 and he’s constantly coming up with new ones.
He could easily coast on the momentum of any of his past catchphrases, but he chooses to keep doing his thing by giving audiences new things to chant and laugh at. A few weeks ago Chris Jericho invented the “List of Jericho” and now it’s one of the main attractions on Raw.
At this point Chris Jericho could probably adopt the gimmick of the Gobbledy Gooker and people would still love it. There’s just nothing he can’t make work.
#2 – There’s More Than One Way To Drink It In
Speaking of Chris Jericho’s projects outside of WWE, if you haven’t familiarized yourself with Talk Is Jericho or Fozzy, you’re missing out.
Over the past few years Jericho’s podcast has become quite popular, and for good reason. Jericho isn’t afraid to take chances with his show, and his approach makes for some unique moments that you can’t really get on other podcasts. It’s not just a show, it’s an experience.
The best example of this is Talk Is Jericho episode 270 where he interviewed Broken Matt Hardy. Look it up, and listen to it, because it’s well worth your time.
Outside of podcasting, the Fozzy frontman recently announced that the band has signed a new record deal, and he teased something new for 2017.
He’s also landed some pretty decent gigs in television and movies over the past few years with a high profile run on “Dancing With The Stars” back in 2011, and appearances in movies such as “MacGruber” and “Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!” (Come on, those movies are funny, just give them a chance.)
Whether it’s podcasting, music, television or movies, the Gift of Jericho is the gift that keeps on giving.
#1 – It’s Always A Gift Worth Drinking
After such a long career in the ring Chris Jericho may be just a tad bit slower than he was back in the day, there’s no denying that, but he still manages to put on pay-per-view quality matches on Raw week in and week out.
Jericho’s recent matches with guys like Seth Rollins and AJ Styles have been some of the better matches of 2016, and the fact that he’s still able to perform at the level that he does is just straight up impressive.
So many other guys from Jericho’s generation have come and gone, or they haven’t been able to evolve past their “nostalgia act” status. But week after week Chris Jericho offers something new, and when Raw ends he’s one of the most talked about, and praised stars on social media.
It’s safe to say that at this point in his career he’s pretty far from a “nostalgia act” and after all this time Chris Jericho is still one of the best reasons to tune into Raw. So, just drink it in man, drink it in.
