Fans who tune in to watch GFW Impact every week will be happy to know that the show will be staying on Pop TV in 2018. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Global Force Wrestling signed a new deal with the network, which is good and bad news for the promotion.

The good news is that Global Force Wrestling will be staying on TV, but the bad news is that the deal is not financially effective, which means it won’t generate a significant amount of money for the company. It also means that the company will likely be spending another year with viewership around the 300,000 viewer mark for Impact.
Global Force Wrestling is trying to run on a limited budget with the UK and India TV deals as the main revenue source, so the company will likely continue to hold long television tapings only a few times throughout the year.
Alberto El Patron was suspended from GFW back in July, and a few weeks ago the company announced that Alberto had been stripped of the GFW Championship.
Alberto’s suspension has yet to be lifted, and GFW recently taped enough footage to hold the company over until Bound For Glory in November. It’s being reported that current plans call for Alberto to return at the November television tapings.
