A few years ago it seemed like former Impact Wrestling stars had a tough time getting signed by WWE, but that’s all changed. AJ Styles is the current WWE Champion, Bobby Roode is the current United States Champion, Samoa Joe is a top star on Raw, and EC3 joined the NXT brand at Takeover on Saturday night.
For months now Rockstar Spud has been expected to join WWE, but he has yet to make his debut on TV, and the company hasn’t released an official statement saying he’s signed.
However, the former X-Division Champion is at the arena for the Royal Rumble tonight, and he posed for a picture at the top of the entrance ramp prior to the show.
Rockstar Spud posted the following:
It’s believed that Rockstar Spud will eventually be joining the cruiserweight division when he does make his debut, and it seems that 205 Live is desperately in need of star power at the moment.
Enzo Amore was fired from WWE last week, and it was later announced that the Cruiserweight Championship has been vacated.
Daniel Bryan has confirmed that a new 205 Live General Manager will be appointed soon, and their first task will be to figure out the fate of the Cruiserweight Title.
