Everyone’s talking about Paige’s in-ring retirement at the moment, and it’s not hard to see why. At 25 years old it seems that Paige has a lot to offer the professional wrestling business, and that her career is ending much too soon.
But Paige isn’t the only WWE Superstar who has retired, as it was recently reported that former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry is considered to be retired from in-ring competition.
PWInsider notes that they spoke to Mark Henry during the premiere of Ric Flair’s 30 For 30 documentary in New York City back in October, and he confirmed his retirement during the interview.
“I’m retired man, I’m an old guy. I want people to remember my best. I don’t want them to see my in my old age taking five segment bumps [laughing[…you know, different stuff. We’ll enjoy the retirement, fade away gracefully.”
Henry doesn’t plan to wrestle another match, but that doesn’t mean he won’t get physical if the occasion calls for it as he noted that he’s, “…retired until someone runs off at the mouth and I have to come and put them in their place. I’m like Ric [Flair]. I’m going to retire about seven or eight times,”
Even though Mark Henry is now retired from in-ring competition, he is still under WWE contract.
