Since the company first launched in 2019, All Elite Wrestling has signed a number of former WWE stars. Ever since Goldberg became a free agent there’s been some speculation regarding him potentially working with AEW at some point, but it doesn’t seem like there’s much interest in Goldberg’s part.
During a recent appearance on 93.7 The Ticket, Bill Goldberg confirmed that he’s had talks with AEW while explaining why he doesn’t think the company is a good fit for him.
“I have talked to them a number of times throughout the past but this is where you’re going to get the most blunt answer you’re going to get from me: The product is too cheesy. It doesn’t deserve to have…I mean, whatever.
If there was a comparable, viable option as a competitor that would allow me to still look myself in the mirror after I was a member of their roster, yeah, then it would be a consideration but not a chance.”
Goldberg has not wrestled since he was defeated by Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber in February of 2022. However, he has stated that he would like to wrestle a retirement match before hanging up his boots for good.
