Former WWE Superstar Zach Gowen recently landed an awesome opportunity. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet Zach is going to be a contestant on “American Ninja Warrior.”

He will be making an attempt to work through the obstacle during a television taping for the show in Indianapolis on April 27. It’s not known at this point when the episode will air, but Zach told Pro Wrestling Sheet that he aspires to lead by example.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to carry a message of hope. I’m here to show we’re not defined by the things that happen to us, we’re defined by how we respond to the things that happen to us. Nothing is impossible, it just hasn’t been done yet.” Zach said.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with Zach Gowen, he’s a one legged athlete who worked for WWE between 2003 and 2004. Zach debuted as a fan in 2003 on an episode of SmackDown who jumped into the ring to help Mr. America. Roddy Piper was trying to pull off Mr. America’s mask and Zach attacked him. Piper then fought back and he pulled Zach’s leg by off accident as he didn’t know it was a prosthetic limb.

Zach later fought for a WWE contract when Vince McMahon put him in what he called the first “real” handicap match. Zach teamed up with Stephanie McMahon to take on the Big Show and they won the match after Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle interfered. Per the stipulation, Zach was awarded a WWE contract after securing the victory.

Gowen then went on to face Vince McMahon in a one on one match at Vengeance in 2003. McMahon won the match, but Zach Gowen continued to wrestle for WWE until he was released from his contract in 2004.
