Former WWE Superstar Devastated Over WWE’s Recent LGBT Movement

WWE is committed to making a social contribution which includes acceptance and this was illustrated by Finn Balor’s amazing WrestleMania entrance where he came out of a crowd of New Orleans’ LGBT community who were all sporting “Balor Club Is For Everyone” shirts.

Former WWE Superstar Darren Young goes by his real name Fred Rosser since his WWE release and he had a different takeaway when he saw Finn’s WrestleMania entrance. Uproxx recently had the chance to speak to Rosser where he admitted that although he is proud to have Balor representing the LGBT community it pains him that he’s not a part of a movement he begged WWE to initiate for years.

“Finn Bálor is one of my favorite guys,” Fred started off by saying. “Him, Sonya Deville — I remember watching her in NXT. I’ve seen her at the Performance Center. She showed me so much love. Finn showed me so much love. So to see those guys represent the LGBT community meant the world to me.

“But I’ll be honest with you, man,” he continued. “When I got released, I was okay with it, but when I’m seeing them do that [LGBT] representation, I was devastated, because I wasn’t invited. I would’ve loved to have been invited just to see that we’re making moves, but I wasn’t invited to something that I begged and pleaded to embrace.”

In the end, it hurt Rosser more not to be included than anything. After all, as an openly gay WWE Superstar, he had to block out plenty of hate and having an opportunity to enjoy a WrestleMania Moment like that would have been nice for the former Primetime Player.

“It is what it is, but I cried like a baby, man. The next day, Monday, after watching it back, I cried like a baby. When I got released, it’s okay. It is what it is, but when I’ve seen that [entrance] and I wasn’t [even] invited just to sit in the crowd and see the moves that we’re making, it broke my heart. They know that. They know that, but hey, it is what it is. Life goes on.”

“Finn’s a great guy,” Rosser continued. “But to not be invited to such an amazing celebration amongst the LGBT community, it just broke my heart. Even to just be on the stage with everyone — like rah, rah, rah. I don’t care. I just want to be able to experience it. It means the world to me [to be included].”

It would have been nice for Darren Young aka Fred Rosser to get the recognition he deserves by being included in that kind of segment, but it just wasn’t in the cards. Let’s just hope WWE continues their movement to block the hate no matter what slogan they give it.
