Former WWE Superstar Denies He Was Employed By Steroid Dealer

The much-anticipated documentary from Jon Bravo which promised to show connections between 15 WWE Superstars of the past and present and steroid dealer Richard Rodriguez dropped late Friday night and it was less than stellar. 15 names weren’t exposed or proven nor was the alleged WWE legend revealed who allegedly purchased over $140,000 in products from Rodriguez.

Honestly, this could someday be considered the Gobbledy Gooker of documentaries seeing how there was a ton of hype but in the end, we got the equivalent of Hector Guerrero in a flamboyant turkey costume.

If you’d like a more detailed account of the entire documentary you can check that out here. But during the 21-minute film, Rodriguez said WWE Tough Enough winner Daniel Puder was a part of his operation.

A contract was shown between WFN and Daniel Puder in the documentary as Richard Rodriguez said Puder was paid well for his services to bring in new customers from pro wrestling and MMA. But as it turns out, Daniel Puder has a much different recollection of those events.

“I’ve known Daniel Puder since he was in high school just because he was a protegee of Frank Shamrock when he was very young and I obviously knew him after when he got into pro wrestling I knew him as well, pretty well,” Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio. “And he told me well enough to where I’m not saying I would necessarily know this but there are things that I would know that would lead me to believe that I should know this but I didn’t.”

“When I first brought it up he had no idea who Richard Rodriguez was,” Meltzer continued. “I just go, ‘you’re in the video dude,’ and he just goes: ‘are you talking about the gym owner in Miami?’ and I go, ‘yes the guy’s a gym owner in Miami.'”

“And he goes, ‘okay, now I know’ that they were in contact and they showed a deal that he claims was made [in the documentary] that he was doing. And [Puder] goes ‘[Rodriguez] told me he was a doctor and we talked but I never worked for him. I never took the deal, I got the deal. I never took the deal and that was that.’ That’s what he said.”

There are other devices which could hold new information. Bravo said he has arranged through Richard Rodriguez’s attorney to have those devices given to him when they are released by the DEA.

The documentary looked great but in the end, there was little substance. There could be more to come in time but as Meltzer noted we might not want to hold our breath on anything considering what we have received so far.
