It’s a sad day for the world world of professional wrestling, as Brian Christopher Lawler, also known to WWE fans as Grandmaster Sexay has passed away according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Lawler reportedly hung himself inside a cell at the Hardeman County jail in Tennessee, and he was later rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced brain dead.
Brian was 46 years old. He is the son of Jerry “The King” Lawler and best known for working as one half of former WWE Tag Team Champions Too Cool with Scotty 2 Hotty.
WWE also posted the following announcement confirming his passing:
“WWE is saddened to learn that Brian Christopher Lawler, who is best known in WWE as Too Cool’s Grandmaster Sexay, has passed away. Lawler, who is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler, competed during the height of the Attitude Era. WWE extends its condolences to Lawler’s family, friends and fans.”
