It’s certainly an exciting time to be a WWE fan as the company has signed some interesting names over the last few months, and now it seems that a former star is set to return.
PWInsider is reporting that multiple sources have confirmed Rusev was at WWE HQ in Stamford, CT today. According to the report Rusev has signed a new deal with the company and he was at WWE HQ setting the stage for his return.
It was noted that CJ Perry (formerly known as Lana in WWE) was not with Rusev today. At this point there’s currently no word on when Rusev will be appearing on TV, but it’s being said that he’s back in the mix.
Rusev originally signed with WWE in 2010 and went on to work with the NXT brand. He was called up to the main roster in 2014 alongside Lana and went on to become a three time United States Champion. Rusev was released from WWE in 2020 and went on to sign with All Elite Wrestling later that year. It was reported back in February that Rusev had parted ways with AEW.
