Former WWE Star Signs New Deal With Impact Wrestling, More Departures Coming

Impact Wrestling is going through changes, and the company recently issued a press release stating that Don Callis and Scott D’Amore have been named Executive Vice Presidents for the company.

PWInsider reports that former WWE star John Morrison, known as Johnny Impact in Impact Wrestling has signed a new deal with the company that will allow him to appear on Impact while working for Lucha Underground as well. It’s also being reported that Taya Valkyrie has signed a similar deal.

Several talents have parted ways with Impact Wrestling this year, and it’s expected that more talents will be leaving the company over the next month or so, some of which could be top stars. It’s expected that Impact will be utilizing a larger contingent of Canadian wrestlers going forward.

The word going around Impact is that John Gaburick will be leaving the company at the first of the year.

Dutch Mantel is also said to be on his way out with one source claiming he’s already gone. Mantel wasn’t used at the Impact tapings in November, and he reportedly lost his position of power with the company when Jeff Jarrett made his exit.

Impact plans to try and tape TV more consistently in 2018 by possibly taping 4-5 weeks of television at a time as opposed to 10 weeks. There is also talk of doing live events in Canada and the United States if the company can find a way to make them cost effective.
