It’s been a few years now since Lio Rush parted ways with WWE and since then he’s worked with notable companies such as AEW, NJPW and MLW. However, with all of the WWE returns we’ve seen since Triple H took over there’s no telling who else could be brought back.
Recently Lio Rush spoke to Chris Van Vliet about his current career path and he noted that he believes he could potentially return to WWE at some point in the future.
“Uhm, I think that it potentially could. I think it potentially could lead me back to WWE. I think at a certain point, it would ultimately be up to me if I wanted to go that route again or not. I realize that nothing is forever, so being presented with certain opportunities, I wanna make the most out of them. I wanna do my absolute best to make sure that there’s no wasted time or wasted movement or effort. Every little thing that I do needs to be a building block to a bigger legacy or whatever the case may be to continue to do the things that I want and to create opportunities for my kids so they can do whatever they truly want.
So if spending another three, five, ten years in WWE to build something bigger than me, I’ll take that. I feel like me going through that process and knowing how that system is like and how things are ran… I think already having that experience and that showing on television that worked could work out in my favor. I see it all the time. I think a great example of that, and obviously he’s not the only one, but [someone] I’ve seen [do it] in real time is Drew McIntyre. I wrestled him on the indies and if I’m not mistaken, I think I was his very last or second to last match before he ended up going back.”
