John Laurinaitis spent a number of years working as the Head of Talent Relations in WWE, but it doesn’t seem that Laurinaitis had a good relationship with every Superstar he worked with.
Rene Dupree appeared on WWE programming from 2003 to 2007, and during a recent episode of his Cafe de Rene podcast he shared some insight on his interactions with Laurinaitis.
“Johnny was always a pain in my a**, man, threatening to fire me every other week, ‘I could fire you, Rene. I could fire you, Rene,’ and then the next week he’d be cool, and then the next week he’d be a p***k,” Dupree said. “I just got so sick of f**king even looking at the guy.”
Former WWE Tag Team Champion Paul London also shared his thoughts on Laurinaitis during the episode and he had less than flattering things to say.
“Just a master manipulator. I think that’s unfortunately what you think of when you think of Talent Relations, just somebody who continuously throws these kind of, I don’t know if they’re empty threats, but it’s a power game.”
Today it was announced that Triple H is once again the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations which is seen as a sign that John Laurinaitis is now done with the company. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
