WWE is without a doubt the most recognizable professional wrestling brand in the world, but the company has endured its fair share of criticism over the years.
Recently released WWE star Maria Kanellis has been outspoken with her criticism of WWE as of late, and she recently took to Twitter to say that the company doesn’t care about building new stars when she posted the follow:
“WWE doesnt want to build new stars, they want to spike the ratings for a couple weeks to keep the investors/networks happy. What WWE doesn’t seem to get, is ratings improve when people care about the story/stars. Invest in talent, spend the time building stars, stop the laziness.”
Maria then started responding to fan comments, and when one fan told her to apply for a job with creative she noted that she did while she was pregnant.
“I tried to because I thought it would be better while pregnant but they wanted to keep me as talent. Maybe someday if the right opportunity came along. It could work.”
She also gave props to the creative team when she said the company has fantastic writers, but the scripts get torn up before the shows.
“Hahaha… no. They have fantastic writers there but they are not given anyway to showcase what they can do. Great scripts are torn up moments before the show. #mariathewriter #givemethepen”

Hahahaha… one night is not building stars. One night pops the ratings. One night uses talented individuals as cannon fodder. Talk to me about the same people in a year and I will eat my words. Key word, people not person. https://t.co/I5er9w60H5

Hahahaha…. I don’t know about that. I just know what I feel as a fan of wrestling. I get excited about something/someone and it gets ripped away from me. https://t.co/xCzNCl1wA8
