Last week WWE released a number of Superstars from the roster including Rick Boogs. Following the releases several WWE stars have taken to social media to reflect on their time with the company and their current situation.
Rick Boogs recently shared a video on his YouTube channel where he indicated that he believes that his WWE contract was terminated due to a political power play, but he did not elaborate further.
“It’s been an interesting time in my life with my job in WWE being terminated do to a backstage political power play, at least that’s my opinion of it. But now is not the time to talk about that. I will get into detail about that when the time is right.”
Rick Boogs first debuted with the NXT brand in 2017 and he would appear on the brand through May of 2021 when he was called up to join the SmackDown roster. Boogs started to accompany Shinsuke Nakamura to the ring as he played Shinsuke’s entrance music on guitar.
Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs went on to challenge The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 38, but they failed to capture the belts, and Rick Boogs suffered an injury during the match. After recovering from surgery Rick Boogs returned to TV in January of 2023 and he was selected for the SmackDown brand during the draft that took place earlier this year, but he hadn’t been making regular appearances on TV in recent months.
