Kurt Angle quickly rose to the top of the ranks in WWE shortly after he joined the company and he went on to have a Hall of Fame worthy career. While Kurt Angle was able to achieve major success over the years his career officially came to an end at WrestleMania 35 when he was defeated by Baron Corbin.

Baron Corbin is currently using his real name, Tom Pestock, and he recently shared some details regarding original plans for his feud with Kurt Angle on Insight with Chris Van Vliet.

“It was supposed to be this whole thing where he was never going to wrestle again, I was going to have a gold medal, I was gonna do this whole thing I feel bad that I didn’t do more with that, with Kurt giving me that opportunity of, you know, going over at WrestleMania, being part of his last match.”

“Literally, the next Monday night, it took a left turn when they put Kurt out there with Lars [Sullivan] — remember that guy for a hot minute? And then the whole gold medal idea got stopped.”

Tom Pestock recently returned to the ring earlier this month when he faced off against Josh Barnett at a GCW event in New York which saw Barnett pick up the victory. He also recently announced that he will be known as “The Nomad” Bishop Dyer moving forward.
