Everyone has to hang up the boots at some point and it looks like Mickie James is hinting at retirement. James last competed last month in Impact Wrestling when she was defeated by Chelsea Green. After the match the former Impact Knockouts Champion was asked what’s next and she said “you’re only as good as your last match” before declaring that she was going home.
Recently a fan asked Mickie James about the possibility of her teaming up with Asuka for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title tournament, and James indicated that she’s done with wrestling when she responded with the following:
“No. I feel I’m done in wrestling. But you can #watchalong with me & @RealNickAldis tonight on @millionsdotco !!!”
Mickie’s husband Nick Aldis also indicated that she’s done with wrestling when he posted a tweet saying that MJ dropped “a bombshell.”
It’s not clear at this point in time if Mickie really is done for good, or if they’re just going out of their way to sell a storyline. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
