This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite emanated from the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida and the action kicked off before the show went live. Ahead of Dynamite the fans were treated to a special dark match which featured the AEW debut of Bishop Dyer (formerly known as Baron Corbin in WWE).
The former WWE United States Champion teamed up with Hadar Horvitz, Ori Gold & Martin Stone to face off against the team of Austin Gunn, Billy Gunn, Brady Booker & Elijah Drago. Unfortunately for Dyer his team didn’t pick up the win on Wednesday night as it was Austin Gunn, Billy Gunn, Brady Booker & Elijah Drago who scored the victory.

Bishop Dyer originally signed with WWE in 2012 and he went on to use the name Baron Corbin. The Lone Wolf became one of the top stars on the NXT brand, and he went on to join the main roster in 2016. During his run on the main roster Corbin managed to win the WWE United States Championship, the Money in the Bank ladder match, and he is also a former King of the Ring winner.
As of this writing there’s no word on if AEW could be interested in signing Bishop Dyer, or if this was just a one off appearance for now.
