For years John Cena was the face of the WWE and even though he has his fair share of fans it appears that Cena also had his fair share of haters both in the stands and behind the scenes. Cena rose to the top of WWE quickly and once he got there he held the top spot for a long time.

During a recent episode of his Cafe de Rene podcast, Rene Dupree talked about John Cena’s rise to the top and he noted that former WWE star Bob Holly openly talked about how he hated Cena.

“It was the night after Judgment Day pay-per-view, right? (…) So, we’re in the locker room after the match and Cena passes by and Bob was like, ‘I hate that motherf**ker.’ Why do you think he hated him? Because he knew he was getting the push that that was the new guy. He was jealous, you get it. We would ride together and he would yell at me, ‘Why [are] you making Cena look good? Why are you giving him so much?’ He would yell at me because he knew that that was Vince’s [McMahon] new guy. Because he wanted that spot so bad, you know what I mean?”

Nowadays John Cena is focused on his acting career, but he recently returned to the ring for a match at WrestleMania 39 where he was defeated by Austin Theory. At this point in time it’s not clear when Cena might wrestle again. Stay tuned for updates.
