The last few months have certainly been exciting for wrestling fans as some big moves have been made. MVP, Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley all reunited in AEW, and the former Hurt Business members are now collectively calling themselves the Hurt Syndicate.
Recently MVP reflected on the run that the Hurt Business had in WWE and he noted that at one point the “old man” wanted to bring in Mark Henry & Ron Simmons so they could turn the group into Nation of Domination 2.0. However, the Hurt Business fought the idea as they wanted the group to focus on the organic friendship between the people involved.
“There was a moment during the “PC Era” when the old man wanted to turn “The Hurt Business” into NOD 2.0. He even brought in Mark & Ron. We fought him on it. Our group was NEVER about RACE. It’s always been about our organic friendship and desire to make money doing what we love!,” MVP stated in a now deleted post.
The Hurt Business were one of the most talked about groups in WWE when they were regularly featured on television. Eventually when the group was split up a number of fans were calling for a reunion that ultimately didn’t happen.
When asked what the reason was for Triple H not wanting to reunite The Hurt Business, MVP said that he, “Always avoided the conversation. ”
This weekend at AEW Full Gear, Bobby Lashley will be facing off against Swerve Strickland in a one on one match. One would have to assume that MVP and Shelton Benjamin will be there to support him as well.
