Last week a number of wrestlers were released from the WWE main roster and NXT including Rick Boogs. Since then several of the released names have taken to social media to comment on the situation, and Boogs recently posted a YouTube video where he claimed he was released due to a “backstage political power play.”
Rick Boogs then went on to go into a little more detail in the comments section on his YouTube channel. One fan commented and said that they don’t believe Boogs would have been cut with Vince McMahon at the helm, and Boogs responded with, “I can say with 100% certainty, the removal of Vince killed my career”
Rick Boogs went on to respond to another fan comment and claimed that one person had a “weird grudge” against him when he added, “Pretty much everyone in the corporate side of the company agreed (about him being the “ideal” WWE star due to his size, look and personality) which is why I was always the third party guy doing commercials for Old Spice, Snickers, Mikes Hard Lemonade, and Toyota however, one person clearly has some weird grudge against me”
One way or another it seems that Rick Boogs has a lot to say about his WWE release and the direction of his WWE career in general. Boogs has indicated that he will be going into more detail when the time is right, so it will be interesting to see what he has to say in the future.
