Last year Triple H took over WWE creative, but he’s been one of the most powerful people in the company for quite some time. The Game has worked closely with some of the biggest names in the business and during a recent appearance on the K100 podcast Ryback talked a little bit about how Triple H helped him early on in his WWE run.
According to Ryback things started off good between him and Triple H, but the former Intercontinental Champion claimed that things changed which led to him calling Hunter a disappointment.
“I’ve wanted to like Hunter a lot, and I think early on a lot of it was very good. He was the one who came up with doing the double stack for the Shell Shock. He used to come up and we used to have conversations, and I don’t know what changed on any of that. It’s all a game on how things work. I can tell you, from Hunter’s perspective, I think we have a lot in common and I loved him growing up.”
“We had meetings in Stamford. He helped me a lot early on, brilliant mind with everything. But toward the end, we had some heated conversations with things. I’d go through him before I’d go to Vince. I told him, ‘You’re the biggest disappointment in my wrestling carer. I grew up loving you and you’re just a f****** disappointment.’ He put his head down and said, ‘Please don’t say that.’ But that’s how I felt.”
Ryback parted ways with WWE in 2016 and he then started working on the independent circuit until 2018. He’s been out of action for a few years now and has teased a return to the ring a few times, but so far he has yet to announce any official plans for a return.
