Injuries unfortunately happen far too often in the wrestling industry, but usually they tend to happen inside of the ring. However, when you like to live your life to the extreme like PJ Black, aka Justin Gabriel in WWE, different rules apply to you.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the former WWE Tag Team Champion broke a leg, a hand and lost a finger in a terrible base jumping accident. This isn’t the first time PJ Black has suffered an injury while base jumping, as he broke both of his ankles back in October.
Unfortunately for Black, he’s been forced to cancel all of his upcoming independent dates.
The Lucha Underground star took to Facebook to post a graphic video of his stitches being removed, and he noted that he hopes to return in time for the Lucha Underground season 4 tapings.
“Stitches came out today! It’s gonna be a long 12 months! Early Arthritis in all my joints from 20 years of wrestling. Oh the things I do to my body to entertain you people. I wouldn’t change a thing and I’ll be back just in time for Lucha Underground season 4 tapings!”
A fan then asked if he would be out of action for a year, and PJ Black said that he won’t be able to wrestle for at least six months.
“6 months till I can wrestle. 12 months till I’m 100% back to normal. But even at 80% I’m still better than most wrestlers”
