You never know who’s going to show up when you watch a wrestling pay-per-view and recently Santino Marella shocked fans when he appeared at Impact Wrestling’s Hard To Kill event. During the show Marella was revealed to be the new Director of Authority as he’s replacing Scott D’Amore who Bully Ray recently put through a table.
During Hard To Kill, Moose defeated Joe Hendry in an Impact Wrestling Digital Media Title match when he used a low blow. Santino Marella then made his debut and used his power as Director of Authority to restart the match which was then won by Joe Hendry.
PWInsider is reporting that Santino, real name Anthony Carelli, is able to use the Santino Marella name in Impact Wrestling because WWE somehow allowed the trademark on the character to lapse. Impact Wrestling’s parent company Anthem Media reportedly filed for the trademark on 12/19/22. It’s also being reported that he has officially signed a deal with Impact Wrestling.
