A Former WWE Star Almost Joined The Cast Of The Walking Dead

WWE stars such as The Rock, John Cena and Batista have all managed to find success in the acting world, and it seems that there are quite a few wrestlers out there who would like to give acting a try.

“The Walking Dead” is one of the most popular shows on television at the moment, and one former WWE and TNA star almost landed a big role on the show. During a recent episode of the WrestlingInc podcast, Matt Morgan revealed that he was almost cast as Sgt. Abraham Ford, but the people in charge of casting the role changed their minds at the last minute.

“I auditioned for that part and I was all-but-told that it was mine, so I got b****y about it and refused to watch [the show] because I didn’t get it,” Morgan said with a laugh. “I was at my brother’s house in Boston, supposed to be there for the holidays, and I didn’t pay attention to anybody because I was supposed to be memorizing my scripts, and then at the last second they pulled the carpet out from underneath me.”

Ultimately the role ended up going to Michael Cudlitz, and Matt Morgan has admitted that he doesn’t watch the show anymore because he lost out on the role.

Unfortunately sometimes things like this don’t work out. Just ask Chris Jericho. He once lost a TV hosting gig to Carlton of “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” fame.
