Mercedes Mone is currently one of the top stars in All Elite Wrestling, but she spent many years competing in WWE as Sasha Banks. Back in 2012, Mercedes first signed with WWE and she went on to main event WrestleMania and win numerous championships. However, her run with WWE came to an end in 2022 after she walked out.
Recently former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci appeared on The Coach & Bro Show, and claimed that a lot of producers told him that Mercedes Mone wasn’t easy to work during her run with the company.
“Her ego is out of control here. At WWE, she wasn’t easy to work with backstage. I know that from a lot of producers there. So, I think a lot of people were glad when she left the company.”
Mercedes Mone has been a member of the AEW roster for almost a year now, and she indicated during an appearance on The Breakfast Club in 2024 that she doesn’t see herself returning to WWE.
“After the way that AEW has been treating me I don’t know, I don’t think so. I feel like I have the best relationship with AEW right now and it’s legit.”
“I’m living my dreams and it’s the best place I’ve ever been, mentally and physically and to be able to have new dreams, after being in the industry for 14 years, it’s the best feeling in the world, so AEW is my home right now.”
Even though Mercedes doesn’t see a WWE return in her future at the moment you can never say never in the world of professional wrestling. CM Punk shocked the world when he returned to the company at Survivor Series in 2023.
For many years fans thought a WWE return was off the table, but it looks like Punk is set to be featured in a prominent spot on the WrestleMania card this year. Recently WWE has been discussing WrestleMania plans for CM Punk and you can get more on that here.
