Just because someone is a celebrity doesn’t mean they’re immune to the law of the land and this goes for WWE Superstars as well. This is the kind of story that is awful to hear because nobody’s career needs to be stifled by a circumstance like this. But current WWE Superstar and former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann has been arrested and initial reports don’t sound good at all.
The current charges Swann is facing are battery and kidnapping/false imprisonment of an adult which are pretty serious offenses. WWE has a 0 tolerance policy toward charges such as battery. Therefore, if he’s charged with these crimes it will likely result in his suspension and termination could follow close behind if things escalate from there.
Seeing how Swann has been arrested for these offenses, a suspension from WWE seems like it could be imminent.
While there aren’t many other current details known at this point, Swann was taken into custody around 12 am on December 10th by Alachua County Florida Sheriff. He is currently being held on the charges of battery and false imprisonment of an adult.
There is currently no bond amount listed for Swann, whose real name is Richard Swann. But we will update you on any new details as they surface on this developing story.
