People in wrestling often joke that no one stays retired forever, but Kurt Angle has yet to return to the ring since he was defeated by Baron Corbin in his retirement match at WrestleMania 35.
During a recent episode of The Kurt Angle Show, former WWE Champion Kurt Angle reacted to rumors that Shawn Michaels was paid $3 million for his match at Crown Jewel, and he indicated that the right amount of money could get him back in the ring.
While taking about whether or not he would return to the ring for a similar payday Angle responded with, “What are you talking about? I would do it in a second. Good knees or bad knees, I would do it in a second.”
Kurt Angle also talked about his experience wrestling at WWE’s events in Saudi Arabia and he noted that while he was hoping for more of a main event spot he was still paid very well.
“You know what? I will say this. They didn’t put me in great spots. I did a Royal Rumble; I was an entrant in the Battle Royal. I also did a seven-minute match with Dolph Ziggler. Dolph was great, don’t get me wrong, but for me, at this point, I wasn’t so great because I’d lost a step. It wasn’t where I wanted to be; I was hoping more main event status, but still, the money was still really good. It was like I main evented a pay-per-view; that’s the equivalency.”
