Triple H’s in-ring career may be over, but he made quite the impact on the wrestling world throughout his run with WWE. The Game captured numerous championships and he also feuded with some of the biggest names in the business.
Rob Van Dam found himself feuding with Triple H when he was trying to climb the ladder in WWE. Unfortunately for Rob Van Dam he ended up on the losing end of his encounters with Triple H. During a recent appearance on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling, RVD discussed his early days feuding with Triple H and he noted that he wasn’t happy with the way things played out.
“I wasn’t happy about the situation at the time. Competitive state of mind, you don’t look at it when you’re across the ring from him and you’re both competing for the love of the crowd, you don’t look at it like, ‘Hey, this guy is [an executive].’ … You look at it more like, ‘It’s not fair. Just because he’s with the boss’ daughter.’”
However, Rob Van Dam went on to note that he has a different perspective on Triple H nowadays, and he praised The Game and the matches they had with each other.
“Looking back, I had great matches with him. He’s a really good wrestler. At the time, I don’t even think I could have admitted that, just because I felt like puffing my chest out and trying to fight for every inch I could get.”
