It’s always unfortunate when a legendary wrestler decides to hang up the boots for good, but that’s exactly what Kurt Angle decided to do following WrestleMania 35. The former WWE Champion was defeated by Baron Corbin in a retirement match on the Grandest Stage of Them All, and since then he’s stayed away from in-ring competition.
Even though Kurt Angle has remained retired there’s been a lot of talk about a possible in-ring return someday as there are many fans who would love to see him lace up the boots one more time. However, Kurt Angle recently addressed his status during an episode of The Kurt Angle Show and he once again ruled out an in-ring return.
“[I’m] not feeling good enough to come back and wrestle. I have to have a shoulder replacement surgery. My doctor told me before he injected it [the shoulder] with novocaine. My knees are good, my back is okay, my neck’s not too bad, but my shoulder is hurting pretty bad.”
Even though Kurt Angle is no longer an active wrestler he does still make appearances on WWE programming from time to time. The Hall of Famer last appeared on the special Raw 30 episode back in January when he temporarily joined D-Generation X.
