For years General Managers had a consistent presence on WWE programming, but that’s not the case anymore. In recent years the company hasn’t been using authority figures nearly as much as Adam Pearce is one of the only people who us currently working in that role on WWE programming. However, you never know when the company could go in a different direction.
WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam recently returned to TV for the 2023 WWE Draft and he helped announce some of the draft picks during the big event. Van Dam was asked during his 1 Of A Kind podcast if he would be interested in taking on an authority figure role in WWE and he noted that he would consider the idea.
“I would consider it. My first thought is that like, ‘I’m really not comfortable in a suit, so I would hope that they didn’t want me in a suit.’
RVD then reiterated that if WWE had an idea he’d be open to hearing about it when he added, “I’d be interested in hearing the idea and how that would work, you know, why not?”
Do you think Rob Van Dam would make a good authority figure in WWE? Sound off in the comments below.
