Former WWE Champion Expected To Return Soon

It’s Royal Rumble season and fans have seen a number of familiar faces return to WWE programming in recent months. Now it seems that another former WWE Champion could be back sooner than later.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Sheamus is expected to return soon. Sheamus last appeared on WWE programming back in August of 2023 when he was defeated by Edge in what turned out be Edge’s final WWE match in Toronto. Since then Sheamus has been out of action due to a shoulder injury.

A few months ago Sheamus was firmly aligned with The Brawling Brutes, but the landscape has changed drastically on SmackDown. Ridge Holland has been building himself up in NXT while Butch recently recruited Tyler Bate to be his tag team partner.

One way or another it will be interesting to see how Sheamus fits into the picture one he finally makes his return to the blue brand. Stay tuned for more updates on his return as they become available.
