So far the 2017 Royal Rumble is looking good, as Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, Chris Jericho, Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods, Braun Strowman and Baron Corbin have all been confirmed for the match. Now former WWE Champion Seth Rollins has also confirmed that he’ll be a part of the match via Twitter.
Seth Rollins unfortunately wasn’t able to compete at the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania last year due to an injury he suffered in November of 2015 during a WWE live event overseas. He was forced to vacate the WWE Championship, and he later appeared at the Slammy Awards to accept the 2015 Slammy for Superstar of the Year. It was there that Seth Rollins declared that he would return and win the title that he never lost.
Seth Rollins later returned at Extreme Rules in May of 2016, and he sent a message to Roman Reigns by hitting him with Pedigree after he defended his WWE Championship against AJ Styles.
Rollins went on to face off against Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank and he managed to defeat Roman to win the WWE Championship for a second time. Unfortunately for Rollins, his title reign was short lived as Dean Ambrose cashed in his Money in the Bank contract, which he had won earlier in the night to win the title.
Money in the Bank was the last time that Seth Rollins managed to capture a championship belt but a Royal Rumble victory could definitely put him right back where he wants to be.
