WWE seems to be making an effort to sign former stars to legends deals as it’s been confirmed that names like Ken Shamrock, Diamond Dallas Page, Mick Foley, Victoria and more have signed contracts with the company. Now another name has been confirmed.
During a recent appearance on the Cheap Heat Podcast, Rob Van Dam revealed that he’s under a legends deal with WWE. The former has made appearances for All Elite Wrestling, but he explained why his involvement with AEW is limited due to the legends deal.
“The first time that I talked to Tony Khan about doing this (working with AEW), a factor was that I still have a WWE Legends deal. So, my use to AEW would be limited as far as they can’t put me on video games, action figures, stuff like that and so, you could say it’s limited on both ends or you could say I got both ends going, best of both worlds or you could just say RVD does whatever he wants.”
Rob Van Dam last appeared on AEW programming during the 4/20 episode of AEW Rampage. More recently Rob Van Dam made an appearance on the 9/13 episode of WWE SmackDown when he was shown in the crowd.
