José Alberto Rodríguez Chucuan, formerly known as Alberto Del Rio in WWE, has reportedly been arrested again. According to La Razon, Alberto Del Rio was arrested in San Luis Potosí for alleged domestic violence. It was noted that the former WWE Champion was arrested in Lomas del Tec subdivision, in the capital of San Luis Potosí. According to the report Alberto was accused of assaulting his wife and the woman was the one who called 911.
State Civil Guard officers reportedly arrested Alberto after they arrived at the scene, and the case is now under investigation. Further details regarding what happened have not been revealed as of this writing.
Alberto Del Rio is no stranger to run ins with the law as he was arrested by Texas authorities in 2020 and charged with one count of aggravated kidnapping and four counts of assault.
The charges were dropped in December 2021 due to the primary accuser failing to appear to testify at the trial which prevented The Bexar County District Attorney’s Office from moving forward with the case. Del Rio later claimed that the accusations were meant to be a type of extortion, which is why the accuser did not testify.
Alberto Del Rio had been working as one of the top stars in AAA, but he parted ways with the company last year after it was purchased by WWE, and his run with the promotion came to an end when he was defeated by El Mesías.
