You never know who might show up when you watch WWE programming, and in a few weeks some big names from the past will be returning for SmackDown 1000.
One of the big segments that WWE is advertising for the show happens to be the Evolution reunion which will feature Batista’s first appearance on WWE programming in several years.
However, it looks like there could be more to Batista’s return than just the Evolution reunion.
Joe Peisich recently reported on Barnburner’s No Holds Barred podcast that there’s talk of Batista signing a short term deal which could see him work with the company through WrestleMania 35 (via Ringside News).
“Batista may be signing a short-term deal with WWE at SmackDown to possibly appear at Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, and WrestleMania.”
Batista has said several times that he wants to return for the right storyline, so we’ll just have to wait and see if the former World Champion ends up being a key player during WrestleMania season next year.
