Former Women’s Champion Announced For The 2017 WWE Hall Of Fame Class

Beth Phoenix is a four-time WWE women’s champion. She is also a master’s degree having, Edge-baby-carrying Glamazon and now she’s set to become a WWE Hall of Famer. USA Today broke the story today and we couldn’t be happier for her.

Phoenix paid her dues on the indie circuit and she also spent 8 incredible years on the big stage of the WWE. She was initially encouraged by Molly Holly to train as a wrestler, and Holly even paid for her to attend wrestling school. Beth’s first match was against a much younger Mickey James in 2001, and she later found success in the female-exclusive wrestling organization, GLORY.

During her tenure in WWE as an in-ring performer she transitioned herself from being an ally of Trish Stratus to an ally of Santino Marella. She soon branched out on her own as the Glamazon and dominated the women’s division while capturing the top prize four times.

After her retirement from WWE, she hooked up with Adam “Edge” Copeland and they’ve had two daughters that Vince probably wants to sign to developmental deals before they’re legally allowed to drive. She is a fine addition to this year’s Hall of Fame class because she was not only a reliable in-ring entertainer, but also a pillar of an example of what women in WWE needed to be.

We here at Still Real To Us are happy to congratulate Beth Phoenix on this great honor and can’t wait to see where this might take her from here.
