Former WCW Star Reveals What Colt Cabana Told Him About CM Punk

CM Punk has a rocky history with Colt Cabana, and it seems that there’s not much of a chance for their friendship to be mended. Punk went off on Cabana during the post-show media scrum following All Out then followed up by getting into a physical altercation with The Elite.

It’s been reported that AEW is in talks to buy out CM Punk’s contract with the belief being that he’s not returning to the company. Colt Cabana turned heads last week when he returned to AEW Dynamite to challenge Chris Jericho for the ROH Championship.

Konnan recently discussed Cabana’s relationship with CM Punk on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, and he noted that Cabana told him there was no communication between the former friends.

“Let me tell you. When I saw Colt Cabana backstage, I remember asking him, I go, ‘Yo, what’s up with you now that Punk’s back?’ He was like, ‘Yeah man, we’re not really talking.’ I go, ‘Come on, dude. After all these years and you guys were boys?'”

“He would kind of look around like he knew — now when I look back — he knew that he was probably gonna get the axe from Punk somehow, or Tony did it to make Punk happy, or Punk asked him. Now when I think back to that day, I remember telling him, ‘Bro, you can’t even sit down and say, ‘Hey let’s reset our relationship?” He goes, ‘Nah, man. He won’t even talk to me.'”
