Professional wrestling is a form of entertainment that requires many different skills, and sometimes the skills learned in professional wrestling help talents break into Hollywood. The Rock is one of the highest paid actors in the world these days, John Cena is landing bigger roles with each passing year, and Batista has been lucky enough to be part of huge franchises like the James Bond series and “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
Now another former WWE star is trying to break into the acting world, and former Tough Enough contestant Mada Abelhamid confirmed on Instagram that he’s in the upcoming Aquaman movie.
Mada was part of the 2015 season of Tough Enough, but he didn’t end up winning the competition. However, he was signed to a WWE developmental deal, but he never made it to TV.
Earlier this year the former Tough Enough competitor confirmed that he had asked for his release and his request was granted.
Apparently video footage of the scene Mada filmed for “Aquaman” has been making the rounds on the news on Australia, and he confirmed his status for the film with the following post:
“Was keeping this under wraps…. but since it’s all over the news here in Australia I might as well share. Had an EPIC time shooting my scene in Aquaman. Pretty cool having a few camels in this scene being from Egypt and all We are wrapping up down here in beautiful Gold Coast Australia… it was such an amazing experience. The last 7 months down here have just been incredible, we had a hell of a group. Going to miss everyone!!! Till next time Australia …. now time to go travel the world #CaptainSluggo”
In other Mada related news, he also got rid of his mohawk a few weeks ago.
“Aquaman” will arrive in theaters on December 21, 2018.
