Former ROH World Champion Reportedly Signs WWE Contract

Over the past few years a few former Ring of Honor stars have found success with WWE. Fans can look at stars such as Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and others as former ROH wrestlers who have done well after signing with WWE, and now it’s being reported that yet another former Ring of Honor star has signed with the company.

PWInsider is reporting that former ROH World Champion Adam Cole has signed a contract with WWE. It’s been rumored for months now that Adam Cole would be signing with the company, and according to the report he’s set to start at the WWE Performance Center this week.

It’s not yet known when he will be making his debut, but as we’ve seen in the past with Bobby Roode and Drew McIntyre, WWE has a history of scheduling big names for appearances at NXT Takeover events, so perhaps Adam Cole will make an appearance at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III on Saturday.

A few months ago Adam Cole noted in an interview that he would rather start in NXT as opposed to going straight to the main roster.

“I would want to [start in NXT] because, first of all, I’m a fan of NXT,” Cole said. “I think the brand is cool. I think the Takeover shows are awesome. I think the fans are great. I love the roster of guys. I think it’s something that’s going to be looked at as a very special time in pro wrestling, so I want to be a part of it. Secondly, of course in a perfect world if I went to NXT, I wouldn’t want to be there forever; but I like the idea of going there and performing there and getting accustomed to the WWE audience and them getting accustomed to me and then eventually making the move to Raw or Smackdown. I think it’d be a lot of fun, and I think I would really enjoy working in front of that audience.”

On this week’s episode of Still Real Radio we’re talking about the road to SummerSlam, who might walk out of the big event as Universal Champion and more. We’re also talking about the possibility of another WWE Superstar Shake-up, and which stars might be better off getting sent to NXT.
