Former Intercontinental Champion Returning To WWE To Work As An Announcer

Over the years many talented wrestlers have been a part of the WWE roster, and from time to time wrestlers make the jump from the ring to the commentary table.

It’s been a few years since fans have seen former Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett appear on WWE programming, but Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that he’s set to join the NXT announce team this week.

As of right now Wade Barrett’s appearance is said to be a one shot deal, as he has not signed a full-time contract to return to the company.

Barrett was released from WWE in 2016 after he informed company officials he wouldn’t be signing a new contract.

Since then he’s worked on acting projects, and he’s also done announcing work for the NWA.

Stay tuned for updates.
