Impact Wrestling is going through big changes at the moment. 2016 was a strange year for the company as Matt Hardy’s Broken Universe got a lot of people talking about the company, but unfortunately Dixie Carter’s legal battle kind of halted the promotion’s momentum.
After all the dust settled, Corgan exited Impact Wrestling and Dixie Carter eventually did the same when Anthem Sports and Entertainment took over. Anthem later brought Jeff Jarrett back into the fold and he put his own creative team in charge.
After the new team got settled in they lost several top stars such as Drew Galloway, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Jade, Maria Kanellis, Mike Bennett and now another star has revealed they are no longer under contract.
Former TNA Knockouts Champion and Impact Wrestling Hall of Famer, Gail Kim, was recently asked if she’s still working for the company, and she revealed that she’s not under contract, but she will always consider Impact her home.
Gail Kim won her sixth Knockouts Championship at Bound For Glory in 2016, but she later had to give the title up after she sustained an injury. She appeared on an episode of Impact Wrestling earlier this year, but she was not used at the most recent set of tapings.
Although she may be a free agent, don’t look for her to return to WWE. She already tried that a few years ago and she graciously made her exit after she eliminated herself from a battle royal then walked backstage only to realize that no one noticed.
It’s really a shame that the women’s division in WWE was quite lackluster during her run with the company. Gail Kim is considered by many to be a pioneer of women’s wrestling and she would fit right in with the current WWE women’s division.
But as Gail said above, Impact Wrestling is her home and it seems unlikely that she’ll want to leave the promotion anytime soon.
