Business is picking up for the Mae Young Classic, as the tournament is set to begin taping in a few weeks, and a former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion is rumored for the event.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there is talk that Madison Rayne will be competing in the tournament.
Rayne recently worked the Impact Wrestling Slammiversary pay-per-view over the weekend and she unsuccessfully challenged Su Yung for the Knockouts Champion.
It seems that her loss may have been Impact’s way of writing her off.
So far Zeuxis, NXT UK’s Isla Dawn, NXT signee Lacey Lane, Karen Q, Kavita Devi, Mercedes Martinez, Mia Yim, Killer Kelly, Crystal, former Divas Champion Kaitlyn, Rhea Ripley, Io Shirai, Nicole Matthews, Jinny, “American Ninja Warrior” star Kacy Catanzaro, Tegan Nox, Deonna Purrazzo, Jessica Elaban and Reina González have all been confirmed for the tournament.
As noted, the tournament will start taping next month, and the Mae Young Classic finals will take place at Evolution, which will air on the WWE Network on October 28th.
