Former ECW World Champion Says John Cena’s Stunner Is “Awful”

John Cena is one of the most recognizable names in the history of professional wrestling, and over the years fans have joked that Cena only has five moves of doom.

But the 16 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion has incorporated new moves from time to time, and at one point he added a springboard stunner to his arsenal, and his delivery of the move was heavily criticized.

Former ECW World Champion Mikey Whipwreck recently spoke to Fightful about the origins of the move, and he praised Ember Moon before criticizing John Cena’s version of the move.

“Ember Moon. She does a really good version of it. Mine, I thought from the top rope would be a good idea. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Nice easy bump for the guy, maybe you can take it on your feet. Yeah, my ass decided that it was not such a good move. So, I started doing it from the mat. I tried to do different variations of it, kinda like what DDP would do with the Diamond Cutter. But, I think Ember Moon. We’re not gonna talk about Cena’s, ‘cause that was pitiful.”

Whipwreck went on to say that even though he feels Cena’s Stunner is awful, he also feels John Cena does a lot of things well.

“Awful. John does a lot of good things, that not one of them.”

John Cena last wrestled at WrestleMania 36 when he was defeated by Bray Wyatt in the Firefly Fun House. It’s not clear at this point in time when, or if he will wrestle again.
